Solar Sails: Imagine drifting across the seas of space slowly, yet steadily, gaining velocity until you have reached nearly the speed of light. Solar sails are a more elegant way of traveling to the stars. Using the slight pressure exerted by sunlight, the sail theoretically can reach enormous speeds. The only drawback is the fact that a spaceship of reasonable size would require a sail the size of Texas to pull it through space.
