Due to the odd weather patterns produced by solar heating from two different sun-like stars, large areas of Alpha Prime are left as dry and parched as Africa's Sahara desert. While from the air, these zones appear to be calm, rolling seas of sand, the atmosphere above them is completely unpredictable. Huge electrical storms and high winds make these vistas completely unlivable. The terrain changes so quickly that map makers are unable to keep up.
